Wheelchair Basketball to Benefit Lincolnway Spec. Rec. Assoc.

A team of basketball players from the New Lenox Fire Protection District will be playing the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association team, the Rolling Falcons, to raise funds.

A team from the New Lenox Fire Protection District will be seated in wheelchairs to play against the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association's Rolling Falcons.

The game is a fundraiser to benefit the LWSRA. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Lincoln-Way Central High School, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway. Tickets can be purchased at NLFPD Station One, 261 E. Maple St., or at the LWSRA Office, which is temporarily housed at Lincoln-Way Central High School.

"Last year we had a good turn-out, but I would like to have a great one this year," said NLFPD Firefighter John Harkenrider.

"It's for a good cause, and it's a lot of fun," he added.

It is a $5 donation for adults (13 & older) $3 for children.
