UPDATE: L-W School Bus Accident: No injuries

A Lincoln-Way High School District 210 school bus was hit by another vehicle.

Update: March 13-6:30 p.m.

New Lenox police issued a ticket for improper lane use to the driver of the car that crashed into a Lincoln-Way High School District 210 school bus on March 1. There were seven Tyler Elementary School youngsters on the bus at the time of the accident. No one was injured in the accident.

According to the police report, 20-year-old Taylor O'Hagan, New Lenox, had moved into the right lane while eastbound on Route 30, when she struck the front of the bus. The bus was turning east onto Route 30 from Tonell Avenue.

A Lincoln-Way High School District 210 school bus was involved in a two-vehicle crash just after 4 p.m. Friday on Route 30 at Tonell Avenue.

No one was injured in the accident, said New Lenox Police Sgt. Bob Pawlicz. However, there were eight students on the bus at the time of the accident. He had no information concerning the age-range of the students on the bus.

While the details of the accident remain a bit sketchy, Pawlicz said another vehicle struck the front end of the bus, while it was headed eastbound on Route 30. It was a minor accident, he added.

It is unknown if tickets were issued as a result of the crash, said Pawlicz.

Lincoln-Way buses transport 19,000 youngsters daily for LWHS D210, Summit Hill District 161, New Lenox School District 122, Frankfort School District 157C and Lincoln-Way Special Area Special Education District 843.
