NEW LENOX - An overview of the Providence Celtics 21, 12 win over the St. Laurence Vikings.
How it Happened - Once again Providence found themselves tied in a dogfight with their opponent coming out of halftime. Yet again the Celtics offense exploded in the third quarter. On the first drive of the second half Jake Godfrey led the offense 56 yards down the field to make the score Celtics 14, Vikings 6 following a successful 2 point conversion run in by Dominic Lagone. Later in the quarter the Celtics scored again on a touchdown catch by Brian Leonard.
"We started out a little slow, but I'm just glad that we have been able to get the momentum rolling our way," said running back Dominic Lagone.

In the past two games Providence's offense has notched a combined total of 36 points during the third quarter.
Celtics Impact Player - Defensive end David Bell finished the contest with a total of eight tackles and a batted down pass.

Defensive Power House - Through the first three games the Celtics defense has allowed a total of only 19 points (6.3 points per game). "We focus and communicate really well together as a defense, explained defensive captain David Kaminski. "We have potential and we are doing all we can to achieve that one goal every team plays for."
What's Next - The Providence Celtics (3-0) play their first Chicago Catholic League game of the season on Friday night at 5 p.m. against the visiting Loyola Ramblers. As freshman the Celtics beat the Ramblers 7-6.
