Old Plank Trail Community Bank’s 3rd Annual Pant for the Pantry 5K Race a Monumental Success

Old Plank Trail Community Bank recently held their 3rd Annual Pant for the Pantry 5K Race to assist the New Lenox Township local food pantry. The race was held in midtown New Lenox with the start and finish lines at Old Plank Trail Community Bank, located at 280 Veterans Parkway.

The New Lenox Township Food Pantry currently experiences record level demand each week, relying solely on donations from the community. In 2013, the Pant for the Pantry 5K Race saw 335 registrants of all ages from over 40 different cities, plus many volunteers who came to help make the race a safe and fun experience for all. Additionally, runners were encouraged to bring two food items on race day which enabled the bank to collect a large truckload full of food. Old Plank Trail Community Bank, along with the local sponsors, is pleased to announce, for the third year, that a check in the amount of $10,000 will be presented to the New Lenox Township Food Pantry.

“The Annual Pant for the Pantry 5K Race represents a positive opportunity for the community to join forces and help support a good cause,” said Gloria Olson, Race Director and a Personal Banker at the New Lenox location of Old Plank Trail Community Bank. “We are grateful to make it to a successful 3rd year with the race and appreciate all the assistance we’ve received from runners, volunteers, and generous sponsors.”
