Badda Bing's, New Lenox (3.5 of 5 stars)

The good: Thanks to reader Jennifer Baron-Van Eck for suggesting the Tony's Turkey panini here. They also have ham, roast beef and Sicilian paninis. The bread was grilled to perfection, crunchy and tasty. The thing that really stood out was how fresh and juicy the tomato was.

The bad: There wasn't really much turkey on the sandwich. It was $8.95 for a sandwich and a side of fries, which I thought was a little pricey for a drive-thru, but this made for a great lunch.

Double Yolk Pancake House, Mokena (3.5 of 5 stars)

The good: Delicious, a huge amount of food for a good price and great service. The waitresses' recommendation of some hot sauce for my Cuban panini was right on the spot.

The bad: Where Michael had trouble with too little meat, I thought Double Yolk's Cuban panini had too much. For me at least, the best part of a panini is how it gets grilled into a cheesy, meaty mess. Because this was stacked so high with meat, this ended up more as a ham and turkey sandwich with melted cheese on top. Delicious, but to me not that paninish.

Ambrosino's Italian Market and Deli, Frankfort (5 of 5 stars)

The good: Wow, does Ambrosino's serve a delicious Italian panini! The Italian comes with Genoa salami, capicola, mortadella, Krakus ham, provolone cheese, special dressing, lettuce, tomato and onion. All of the ingredients are fresh and taste incredible. The best part is waiting for the food because you're enveloped by the wonderful smells from the sauce and pasta the deli also serves.

The bad: Ambrosino's doesn't have any inside seating, which means I had to wait to get home before I could eat the panini. How fair is that?
