The New Lenox restaurant Papa Joe's owes the electric company $19,020.40, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday.

Commonwealth Edison brought the legal action against Papa Joe's in Will County court.

"Despite repeated demands, Defendant had failed to pay the electric bills in their entirety for service at" the restaurant, according to the lawsuit.

Papa Joe's won the Best Sausage Pizza and Best Specialty Pizza awards at a February 2012 New Lenox pizza popularity contest.

A paper sign hanging at the entrance of the restaurant said the dining room is no longer open but carryouts can be ordered after 10 a.m.

I agree with NL4LIFE. Lets keep our mom and pop shops afloat. Soon enough, we will not recognize our little town anymore.

Ask Trustee Tuminello about this. He has family that owns Papa Joes. How does the bill grow to be this big? Why did Com Ed allow this without shutting service off sooner?

You and I would be disconnected by now. Get this business off the electrical welfare roles. The consumer will be flipping this bill.

Don't open a Golden Corral in New Lenox or an Old Country Buffet you will get a lot of cock roaches and foreigners.

What tribe are you from George? We're all foreigners.
