Panda Express, Radio Shack Possible for New Lenox

Construction is progressing in the area surrounding Walmart in New Lenox, but what other businesses would you like to see in the remaining lots?

With three more businesses being constructed in the lots surrounding Walmart right now, the development is more than half full.

But what other businesses would you like to see come to the remaining space in the 450,000-square-foot New Lenox Town Center? There are currently five businesses operating in the development, with three more under construction, two locked in and four proposed spaces.

*The multi-tenant buildings in lots 4 and 10 can hold a maximum of eight and six tenants, respectively. In lot 4, currently proposed businesses include Bedding Experts, GNC, Great Clips, Radio Shack and Verizon.

Village planning administrator Robin Ellis said there were no other site plans submitted for this development as of last week.

In a previous layout of the development plans, a Dollar Tree and Party City were included but are no longer included in the most recent leasing literature.

The development's leasing company did not return calls seeking more comment about the proposed businesses and timelines anticipated for those deals and construction.
