Immediate Care Clinic Opens Today

An immediate care health clinic that will be open seven days a week is opening its doors today in New Lenox.

 is opening its brand new 4,200-square foot facility at 621 E. Lincoln Highway (in front of ) with the goal of providing local families medical care on the family's own schedule, marketing director Sparky Powell said.

''Their schedule means they simply come in when it's convenient for them," Powell said. "They don't need an appointment and we are open early and late to accommodate the busy lifestyles people have today." 

The clinic will be open 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The clinic hosted an open house last week, offering the chance for  members and clients to tour the four exam rooms, one trauma room, one eye/audio room, one X-ray room and two drug screening rooms at the clinic.

"We also have four physical therapy treatment areas for when we expand into PT services," Powell said.

Powell said the clinic can serve as many patients as needed and other Physicians Immediate Care locations serve up to 150 patients a day.

According to an article posted on the New Lenox Physicians Immediate Care Facebook page, centers like this across the country are usually referred to as "urgent care" centers, but such facilities in Illinois must be referred to as "immediate care centers" because state law considers "urgent care" to be for life-threatening cases.
