Fabian's Flooring: Remodeling Homes in the Hometown

The carpeting, flooring and upholstery business has been in town for more than 30 years.

Jane Fabian used to work in downtown Chicago, but she’s appreciated the opportunity to come back to New Lenox and work with , a true community business.

“Who doesn’t like to keep their business in the place they live?” Fabian said.

The carpeting and flooring business has called New Lenox home for about 30 years, and Fabian grew up here. The business offers a large selection of carpets, hardwood, cork, laminate, tiles, area rugs and upholstery, along with services including water restoration, cleaning and washing.

Her father-in-law started the business, and after that her husband, Phil, got involved. The business was at Vine Street and Route 30 for nine years, then went in the Bluestone Commons area. When Atrium Point opened at Schoolhouse Road and Route 30, it moved to the current location.

So Fabian has grown to love and know New Lenox and its residents, and that shows in their customer service.

“New Lenox is a tight-knit community and most people know each other,” she said. “People we grew up with are still here.”

With the way the housing market is now, more people are remodeling their homes, and Fabian said they aim to provide quality products and service that doesn’t break the bank.

“Everyone has that champagne taste,” she said. “Here they can go with the carpet that’s within their budget and is still a nice product.”

Perhaps just as important as the financial side of things is the experience customers have, and Fabian said the business works to keep things as clean, quick and healthy as possible.

“It’s a big deal when you go to someone’s home and rip up the carpet. Their life feels out of control,” Fabian said. “We try to make it a pleasant experience. We’re not big but we get the job done. We love to service the community.”
