Chamber Week: What's Your Favorite New Business?

New Lenox has welcomed a variety of businesses this year, including an auto dealer, a florist, a couple fast food joints and more.

This week celebrated chambers of commerce across Illinois, and locally there were a few events for members and other residents.

State Rep. Renee Kosel (R-New Lenox) spoke during a chamber luncheon earlier in the week, saying there need to be more incentives for businesses to remain in Illinois, most notably by lowering taxes.

"The environment of business is one of high costs and high taxes," Kosel said. "Gov. Quinn has since given some of these (larger) companies tax breaks. But the average and small businesses, the ones that are really the backbone of the state, didn’t get those breaks. There’s not much incentive to hire new employees."

Although Kosel focused on the statewide business climate, locally New Lenox has welcomed a variety of new businesses this year. Below, we ask you which is your favorite. For the purposes of the poll, we only included new chamber members based in New Lenox, excluding home-based businesses.
