Tiger Just Can't Seem to Finish

Being tied with Tiger going into the last day meant in the past that you were playing for second. Not anymore.

Being my first blog post I thought I would start out by talking about some golf I watched this weekend. While a lot of you might have watched Brandt Snedeker shoot a final round 67 to win the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, some might have missed Tiger Woods trying to win his first full field tournament since coming back after some off-course issues.

Tiger was playing in the 2012 Abu Dhabi HSBC on the European tour. After the third round Tiger was tied for the lead with Robert Rock. Tiger fired a bogey free round on Saturday (66) to share the lead with Robert Rock.

In the past this would mean trouble for Mr. Rock—being tied with Tiger going into the last day meant in the past that you were playing for second.  Not anymore, as once again Tiger seemed to let this one slip away.

Tiger was the only player of the final top five to not break par. He only hit two of the 14 fairways during the final round and hit 6 of the 18 greens in route to a final round of 72. Robert Rock fired a final round 70 to win by one over Rory Mcllory.

So what is going on with Tiger? I am not sure but I feel a lot has to do with pressure—the pressure to end this drought and stop all the people saying, "Will he ever win again?"

He has the talent, which we all know, and you don't shoot 66 if you do not have the talent. Right now, however, I feel it is all in his mind and he is trying so hard to get over that hump and return to greatest that he makes mistakes during his round that he can't recover from.

Once Tiger gets that first win under his belt this will put his mind at ease and the Tiger of old will once again prowel the fairways looking to pounce any chance he gets. Will this win come in two weeks when he plays at Pebble Beach, his first PGA Tour event of 2012? We shall see...
