'Triple Play' Planning Still in the Works

Hang in there, rock fans. The lineup hasn't been determined yet.

New Lenox residents looking to jam out this summer will have to wait a bit longer to hear the lineup for the village's annual Triple Play concert series.

Mayor Tim Balderman books the acts for the much-anticipated series—and he's running into a bit of a problem: rock groups seem to be getting greedy.

Many have noted the success country bands have in performing in clusters, but booking three headliners in one night might make it 'impossible' to maintain the $50 ticket price and maximum of 5,000 tickets for each show.

Still, Baldermann is confident the series will deliver.

“I can assure you, we are going to have a great Triple Play,” he told the village board this week, as reported by Sun-Times Media.

Past lineups included Bad Company, Rick Springfield and Foreigner; in 2012, the series featured Night Ranger, Heart and Styx.
