Triple Play Concert Tickets On Sale Today: All You Need to Know About the Show

Opening acts have been selected but are pending approval by the headliners.

Last month, the cheap seats for an REO Speedwagon concert in Merrillville, Ind., was $49. Today, $50 tickets go on sale at Village Hall for the Triple Play Concert Series.

The difference? A $50 ticket gets residents entry not only to an REO show, but also Cheap Trick and Starship shows earlier in the summer. Tickets are available today through April 30 on the second floor of Village Hall, 1 Veterans Pkwy, for people who live in the 60451 area code. Starting May 2, non-residents can get tickets for $60. The schedule is:

  • Jefferson Starship: Saturday, June 4, 9 p.m.
  • Cheap Trick: Saturday, Aug. 6, 9 p.m.
  • REO Speedwagon: Saturday, Sept. 3, 9 p.m.

All shows are held on the Village Commons, and the park will open at 5:30 p.m. before the show. Two opening bands will perform each night. Mayor Tim Baldermann said the village received interest from at least 30 diverse opening groups, and village staff have narrowed the list to six. Final approval must be given by the headlining bands before the openers are made official, but Baldermann shared four of the selections.
