PHOTOS: Sara Evans Brings Country to the Commons

The 2012 Country in the Commons brought a large audience to New Lenox on a gorgeous summer evening. If you took photos of your own, share them on Patch!

The New Lenox could have passed for a rodeo by looking at the attire of residents, on Friday, June 21, as residents gathered for the Sara Evans concert.

Residents paired enjoying the mid-70 degree weather on the summer evening and the music from the 2012 Country in the Commons together.

Abigail Rose, a 16-year-old artist, kicked off the night when she took the stage. She did not seem afraid of the crowd that reached about 5,000 people by the time Sara Evans took the stage.

Next, Illinois natives Jason & The Haymakers reminisced about their "home" during their performance. Jason mentioned several times in between songs that he had grown up in Bourbonnais. Once the band was done with its set, the drummer tossed his drumsticks into the crowd.

Sara Evans appeared a few minutes earlier than her 9 p.m. scheduled start. The Country Music Association award winner had the crowd singing along with her every word from songs "A Little Bit Stronger" to "Suds in the Bucket" throughout the night.
