Rick Springfield Rocked On Stage in New Lenox!

Rick Springfield proved he still had plenty of drive and moves left to entertain a crowd.

The 80s rocker, Rick Springfield, got a sold-out crowd Saturday in New Lenox to rock-n-roll with top 40s hits along with new releases.

Stepping on stage about 9 p.m. with a guitar in hand, he quickly got the crowd engaged. The crowd, some holding posters that read, "We Love You Rick," lined up around the stage. Once the music started, many stood through the performance to enjoy the upbeat tunes, especially "Human Touch" and "Jessie's Girl."

Springfield didn't stop with his famous hits; he introduced a number of songs from his new album, "Songs for the End of the World." He even got the crowd to sing along and dance, while celebrating a bit of self-loathing. At his prompting, they happily chanted, "I Hate Myself," which is the title of one of his new releases.

Springfield was the second performer in this summer's Triple Play Series. Bad Company performed on June 29, and Foreigner is scheduled for Aug. 31.
