Opening Bands Announced for Cheap Trick, REO Concerts
Despite a nasty accident on stage during a recent show in Canada, Cheap Trick will still be performing in New Lenox next month.
Despite heavy winds that knocked Cheap Trick members off their feet and collapsed their stage during a recent set in Canada, the classic rock band is OK and will still perform in New Lenox next month.
That's the most recent music-related scare for New Lenox concertgoers; just last month the after the hip hop artist crashed on his jet ski.
Cheap Trick will perform Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Village Commons as the second of three shows in the Triple Play Concert Series, and REO Speedwagon will close things out on Sept. 3. During a Village Board meeting Monday night, Mayor Tim Baldermann announced the opening bands.

Baldermann said about 130 tickets remain. Single-show tickets may be purchased the day of the concert, but there's no guarantee they will be available. A pass for both remaining concerts is available at the for $60.
