Lincoln-Way North, Lincoln-Way West Soccer Teams Raise Money for Prostate Cancer Research

Hoping to raise awareness about prostate cancer, the varsity boys’ soccer teams at Lincoln-Way North and Lincoln-Way West high schools recently raised $650 to support cancer treatment and research. The money, raised at a North vs. West soccer game in October, was presented to the Silver Cross Foundation on Feb. 22.

New Lenox Students Make Dean's List at Miami University

Miami University students who achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for second semester 2010-2011 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic performance including Halligan Elizabeth Wexter and Brianne Lyn Vandenberg, both of New Lenox.

Silver Cross Promotes New Lenox Nurse

New Lenox resident Marilyn Paolella, R.N., has been promoted to Director of Maternal/Child Care overseeing the Silver Cross Hospital Birthing Center and pediatrics/medical surgical care. Previously, she was a Clinical Educator for the Birthing Center and pediatric departments and has worked for Silver Cross Hospital for 31 years.

L-W Central Administrator Moving to Oak Lawn High School

The Oak Lawn Community High School Board of Education this week appointed Jeana Naujokas as the school's assistant principal for instruction and assessment.  The appointment becomes effective on July 1. Naujokas is currently the assistant principal of curriculum and instruction at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox.

Safety Fair and Severe Weather Spotting With Meteorologist Mark Strehl

The Village of New Lenox and the New Lenox Police Department is proud to support our Safe Communities America Coalition and Citizen Corps Council with the 2nd Annual Health and Safety Expo and Severe Weather Spotter Training. The event will be held on Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Lincoln-Way Central High School, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway New Lenox, and is FREE to the public.
