ShareFest 2013 is Packed with Events

ShareFest 2013 promotes 11 Days of Giving and a total of 30 Days of Service throughout the month of September. More volunteers are needed for Sept. 14.

The annual ShareFest volunteer event continues to evolve and expand as people come together with more ideas, but this year, it lasts for 30 days, which includes 11 Days of Giving.

ShareFest has worked to bring together hundreds of volunteers and numerous organizations that man service projects throughout New Lenox and help others in need through various collections.

The main event is from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 14 at Spencer School Campus, 1711 Spencer Road. A few of the features have different hours to accommodate the specific organization, he said.

This daylong event was designed to appeal to the whole community, said Gary Cheney, ShareFest chairperson. It includes a pet adoption, recycling drive, health and safety fair, book drop-off and exchange, clothes and household goods collection, food drive, blood drive and more.

At this point, Cheney said more volunteers would be helpful.  To offer some time and muscle, email Cheney at gary@sharefestnewlenox.com.
