A New Lenox man, whose wife suffers from reactive respiratory disease, removed video cameras aimed at the backyard of neighbors that allegedly burn illegally.
For as long as three years, Steve Dana, who lives with wife Pam on Golf Avenue in the Spring Creek subdivision on the west side of I-355, has aimed several video cameras at his neighbors' backyards, recording alleged illegal burning activities.
Beth Schnura, a neighbor with a City of Joliet address, said, the cameras came down on Aug. 10. They were installed three years ago. Another neighbor, Laura Hackett, of New Lenox, said her backyard was added to the list of properties put under the lens after having fogged the yard with insecticide, according to the Sun-Times Media.
Dana said his wife health was the reason for the cameras. Neighbors who expressed concern about an invasion of privacy have agreed to stop burning all together or to restrict it to a covered fire pit. They noted that they were unaware of Pam Dana's health issue.
