Loyal for Life: Methodist Church Honors Longest-Serving Women

The United Methodist Church in New Lenox is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year.

The is celebrating its 175th anniversary as a congregation this year, and on Saturday honored seven women who have been long-serving members.

The church hosted a Ladies Tea, complete with Sunday hats and all. The event opened the event with a harpist, along with a local tea expert. Dolores Barenz introduced the matriarchs with stories about their lives in the church. The event was hosted by Sarah's Circle and Ruth Johnson, the president of the United Methodist Women's Group.
