KKK Guy Who Was Trying To Recruit In New Lenox Takes To CNN To Talk Klan 'Rebrand'

KKK guy Frank Ancona said the recent, deadly anti-Semitic shootings in Kansas "set back everything I've been trying to do for years," according to CNN.

Remember Frank Ancona? He was that Ku Klux Klan guy whose group distributed recruiting fliers around New Lenox last month.

Then, after a rival KKK outfit heard about Ancona muscling in on a town they flooded with fliers not even six months ago, a whole Klan beef started with one side questioning Ancona's racist bona fides and Ancona calling his detractors drunken, drug-abusing "white trash Hoosier types" fixated on hatred.

Well, Ancona's at it again, this time bemoaning the damage done to his cause by the murderous rampage allegedly carried out by former Klan leader Frazier Glenn Cross.

"What this guy just did set back everything I've been trying to do for years," Ancona says in a CNN story.

Deadspin got ahold of the CNN piece and had this to say: "When CNN wrote the worst Kurt Cobain lede ever, we figured that they had done something on which they couldn't improve. Here, though, is a long article ("Can This KKK Leader Rebrand?") from the once-respected news organization suggesting that the true victims of the recent Overland Park shootings may actually have been moderate Ku Klux Klan leaders."

Ancona may be trying to soften the Klan's image but CNN doesn't hold out much hope for his success.

"The Klan could change its name, get a smooth-talking spokesperson, replace the robes with suits and take off those ridiculous hats, but underneath, people would recognize its message is the same," the story said.
