Crisis Center for South Suburbia Honors New Lenox Couple for Years of Support

Edward and Evelyn Dik recently received the award supporting the local nonprofit since 1997.

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia recently honored New Lenox residents Edward and Evelyn Dix with the 2013 Dianne Masters Award, Sun-Times Media reports.

The Dik’s have been supporting the crisis center for over 15 years now. The award was named for the crisis center’s founder, Dianne Masters.

“Supporting organizations like the crisis center is so dear to our hearts,” Evelyn Dik told Sun-Times Media. “We want the children and their mothers to be safe and to feel safe.”

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is a nonprofit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence, while addressing the societal issues that contribute to domestic violence, according to its website.
