Chili Cook-Off: Secret Ingredients Add Spice to the Pot

New Lenox residents served their best chili Feb. 9 at New Lenox Library District for the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by Gatto's.

From spicy to zesty, seven unique chili dishes were served up to about 85 taste-testers at the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off Saturday at New Lenox Library.

The contest, sponsored by Gatto's Restaurant & Pub, offered up a variety of hot and spicy combinations along with zesty vegetable and meat-chocked varieties of an all-time cold weather favorite food, chili.

The homemade recipes drew a crowd of willing judges, including last year's winner John Kluk. He didn't participate this year, but he enjoyed sampling the entries. He wouldn't wouldn't reveal his favorite though.
