Support Groups at Silver Cross Hospital

Silver Cross Hospital in partnership with BMI Surgery hosts a free Bariatric Support Group for individuals who have undergone weight loss surgery. The meeting will be on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Silver Cross Hospital, Pavilion A, Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.  First time participants should call (815) 717-8744 for more information.

 

Bipolar Disease Support Group

Silver Cross Hospital will host a free Bipolar Disease Support Group for individuals and family members coping with bipolar disease on Tuesday, Aug. 12 and 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Silver Cross Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services, 1900 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Breast Cancer Support Group

The American Cancer Society and Silver Cross Hospital will host I Can Cope, an educational program for women facing breast cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Silver Cross Hospital Conference Center, Pavilion A, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.  This free program covers topics relevant to the cancer experience and offers practical help in coping with some of the emotional issues resulting from a cancer diagnosis.  First time participants should call 1-888-660-HEAL (4325) or visit www.IMatter.silvercross.org to register to attend.

 

Breastfeeding Support Group

The Silver Cross Birthing Center’s certified lactation consultants will host a free support group meeting on Monday, Aug. 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.  All meetings will take place in the Hospital’s Conference Center, Pavilion A, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. New mothers have many questions and concerns about breastfeeding in the weeks leading up to and after birth. Breastfeeding support groups are a wonderful way to exchange information and experiences. Stroke Support Group

If you are a stroke survivor, family member or caregiver and would like to be a part of a wonderful group, please join the Silver Cross Neuroscience Institute  Stroke Support Group.  The meeting will be on Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Inpatient Unit Dining Room, 1900 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.
