Meet the Harp Class for Adults

Adult harp class begins on September 2 at The Music Connection. The 12- one hour classes will be held on Tuesdays from 8-9PM and are taught by Janelle Lake. The class is open to adults 18 and older who would like to learn about the harp and receive hands on group instruction.

“The harp is a wonderful instrument for the adult who would like to learn an instrument,” said Janet Kuester, director of The Music Connection. “One of the best things about harp is the beautiful sound a beginner makes right from the beginning.”

She continued, “If a student has previous music background, it certainly helps in terms of understanding the notation.  But even if a student is a total beginner, they will be playing  beautiful melodies by the end of 12 weeks.”

The class covers: harp care and maintenance and instruction.  New beginners and students who have some experience are both welcome.  Each week, Ms. Lake performs a short piece for the class. 1 minute clips of various styles of harp playing and music are shown each week.  Students play together and learn together.

Harp rental is offered for an additional fee or students may bring their own.
