Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, Where Nature and Fun Come Together!

Do the warmer temperatures have you thinking about which youth camp to send your child this summer? Try Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, a 4-H sponsored camp in Manteno for youth ages 7-16. We invite you to attend our Open House, from noon-4 p.m. on April 27. We'll be there rain or shine. Bring the whole family and spend the afternoon at Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, located ½ mile north of Illinois Highway 102 on the 6000 West Road.

While you're there, explore the 100-plus acres of campgrounds surrounded by the beautiful Rock Creek. Try some of our camp activities, including wall climbing, low ropes, campfires and hands-on environmental programs. Enjoy lunch and meet the director along with some of the summer staff.

Established 68 years ago, the camp that was once the home of Pottawatomi Chief Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, today is fondly referred to as Camp Shaw. The camp is a member of the Northern Illinois 4-H Camp Association and the American Camp Association. We offer seven different camping opportunities for boys and girls, from beginner experiences to extreme camping along with performing arts camp and science and technology camp.
