Take a Virtual Trip to Ireland at New Lenox Library

Your Irish eyes will smile when you learn more about the customs of the Leprechauns.

Today at New Lenox Public Library, Ellish Sullivan will be sharing her vast knowledge of the Emerald Isle.

Beginning at 6 p.m., she's presenting a program called "Journey to Ireland." From Dublin to Donegal, she'll share insights into the culture, the castles, the music and more. 

Ellish Sullivan is the director of the Sullivan School of Irish Dance, 13923 W. Illinois Highway. Students from the school are joining her, and then they're planning to delight the audience with a wee bit of the Irish jig. 

The Sullivan students perform regularly throughout the region. And in honor of St. Patrick's Day, March is bound to be the busiest month the busiest month.

The folks from the Manhattan-New Lenox TRIAD group invite senior citizens to attend a meeting on health care. The free event begins at 1:30 p.m. at the New Lenox Police Department, 701 W. Haven Avenue. 

Kathy Johnson, of New Lenox Township, said the discussion will be focused on overall health and healthy living. It's never too late to prepare for the colder months to come. That said, Dr. Neil Sharma, a geriatrics physician from Presence Healing Arts Pavilion, 410 E. Lincoln Highway, is planning to offer some information and tips to keep seniors healthy and feeling productive. . 

And while no one particularly looks forward to getting a shot, Sharma is discussing immunizations especially for seniors.
