NL Firefighters and NL Police Officers Compete in Fourth Annual Softball game

It’s that time of year again, the New Lenox Fire District and the New Lenox Police
Department will host its annual Guns n’ Hoses Charity Softball game on Saturday,
September 8, at the Lion’s Den Fields, 520 S. Cedar Road.

The game will begin at 5 p.m. to raise food and money for the New Lenox Food
Pantry.  With little hope for a change in the economy in the near future, there are still many residents utilizing the food pantry to help feed their families.

Admission is free and open to the public.  Donations of non-perishable food items would be appreciated.  There will also be a raffle in between innings with prizes such as an autographed baseball from the Chicago Cubs, tickets to see the Chicago Rush and Chicago Sky and much more.

This is the fourth year for the event.  The winning team gets a traveling trophy that has yet to travel to the fire station.  The NL “Finest” have beat the NL “Bravest” in the game the previous three years!  Will the firefighters finally get to take home the trophy?

Hopefully the big winner will be the NL Food Pantry.  So come out and support your fellow residents in need and cheer for your favorite hometown protectors!
