Someone entered an unlocked car in the 200 block of Cherry Hill Road, emptied the glove box but stole nothing, according to a sheriff's police report.

FRIDAY, JULY 20

Woman Chases after Purse Thief and Retrieves It

A woman from the 200 block of Roberts Road told sheriff's police that she went to her car and set her purse and a few bags in the vehicle, which was parked out front.

She ran back into the house briefly and came out to discover someone stealing her purse. A male she described as about 17 years old ran away with the purse, but she chased him in her car. When she ordered him to stop, he dropped the purse and fled the scene.

Car Accident

Benjamin Cash, 29, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, and Amanda Miller, 19, also of Joliet, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after an incident at the intersection of E. Lincoln Highway and S. Schoolhouse Road.
