Tornado Watch Issued in Will County

After a sunny start to the week, Will County residents can expect several days of wet weather.

The National Weather Service in Romeoville has issued a tornado watch for Will County, effective until 1 p.m. Wednesday. The watch also includes Grundy, Kankakee and Kendall counties.

The forecast calls for highs near 70 degrees and thunderstorms and showers, with the possibility of severe storms with high winds and large hail.

More showers and storms are predicted after midnight and into Thursday. Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 40s by Thursday evening. Friday could bring more wet weather, with highs in the upper 50s and a 40 percent change of thunderstorms Friday night, according to the weather service.

Warmer weather is likely headed this way for Memorial Day weekend, with highs around 70 Saturday and in the lower 80s on Sunday.
