Surrender! Cheap Trick is Ready to Take Over New Lenox

The rock band from Rockford takes the stage Saturday, Aug. 6, in New Lenox. Get all the information you need on the park, tickets and opening acts.

Rockford, Ill., gave the world Cheap Trick, a band born in the 1970s and still going strong. Rock out to such hits as “Surrender,” “Dream Police” and “I Want You to Want Me,” as Cheap Trick performs this Saturday in New Lenox as part of the summer’s Triple Play Concert Series. See below for all the information you need about the concert.

Show Information: The concert is held on the , 1 Veterans Pkwy, in New Lenox, and the park opens at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. Cheap Trick goes on at 9 p.m., following two opening acts.

Opening Acts: Miles Nielsen & the Rusted Hearts is a pop rock band hails from Cheap Trick's hometown in Rockford, and The Avatars are an alternative/powerpop band also out of Rockford.

Still Need Tickets?: UPDATE: On Friday, Aug. 5, the village posted a message on its website that all 5,000 tickets to the Triple Play Concert Series have sold out. 

Park Information: Tickets are general admission seating. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. A free bus shuttle is offered from the Metra station at 300 Church St. beginning at 5:15 p.m. All items brought into the park will be searched. No coolers, food or outside drinks are allowed in. Local restaurants will provide food for purchase, and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will also be sold. No pets are allowed unless for assistance animals.
