The Republican presidential candidate has a secret or two (or three …)
7:38 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Seriously? And the current President hasn't hidden anything from us these past 4 years? Give me a break!
6:50 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
I hope the Oak Lawn Patch is not another liberal Bias paper, I was just beginning to like it.
5:39 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012
.....And how long did it take for the current idiot to produce his birth certificate?? The only president in history to disregard recognizing D-Day. A president that feels hosting a basketball team at the White House is more important than appearing at the Law Enforcement Memorial during Police Week in D.C. A president that refuses to deport two leaching illegal immigrant family members. The list goes on and on.....We no longer have an identity thanks to this clown.
5:42 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012
Bobby, the only current idiot is you with your birther garbage. Regarding D-Day? Obama went there on the 65th anniversary. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/dday.asp
9:41 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012
Here is another list of possible illegals. They have never made their birth certificates available. I deman and investigation. Wahington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adms, Jackson, VanBuren,Harrison, Tyler, Polk, Taylor, Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, Lincoln, Johnson, Grant,Hayes, Garfield,Arthur, Cleveland, Harrison Cleveland, Mckinley, Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson,Harding, Coolidge,Hoover, Roosvelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush. I don,t know , maybe I missed it. Maybe they presented their birth certificates. Maybe you birthers should consult THE DONALD, he seems to be the authority.
10:14 am on Tuesday, July 17, 2012
My comment wasn't birther in origin. I am making reference to HIS illegal family here in the states sponging off of our public aid...
7:17 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012
Faux News a serious website? Snopes, you imbecile, actually does research and provides links in their articles for you to click as well as listing their sources at the end of the article. Of if you're not too lazy, Bobby, and can spell, you can do the Google search yourself. See what all the other Presidents did on D-Day.
Your one post was birther in origin because you asked ".....And how long did it take for the current idiot to produce his birth certificate??" Again, the only idiot is you and every Republican. STILL bringing up this nonsense?
Republicans are idiots and arguing with them is a waste of time.
7:42 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012
"The only president in history to disregard recognizing D-Day."
Sorry, stupid. Guess what? St. Reagan only went once, 1984 for the 40th anniversary. Obama went in 2009 on the 65th anniversary.
7:49 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Can't wait to see a cartoon on President Obama. You're probably having a hard time deciding where to start! Historic spending of OUR money? No plan for the economy? No progress on improving unemployment? Tax increase to pay for a healthcare plan more than half the country doesn't want? Hanging out with radical left people who don't like our country? Never constructing a business deal in his life? Never having a real job in the private sector? Endless golf, Hollywood fundraisers, vacations for Michelle, etc. Well I guess none of this is all that funny...actually it's pretty sad. Thanks President Obama. Hope to see you back home Chicago in January. (In the home your buddy Resko got for you).
11:33 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Frank: you have been watching too much faux news. Most all of your complaints are just not true. Actually, he has the lowest spending of all presidents since Roosevelt. He would have had many more jobs created by now except that the Repubs wouln't pass the jobs bill. There will not be a tax increase for the health insurance bill. There will be a slight penalty tax for those who can afford to get health insurance and don't get it, he certainly plays less golf than his predesessor, ----you need to check some facts before you shoot your mouth off.
6:44 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Oh Elanor, I hope the kool-aid that you have been drinking is sugar free because it appears that you have been over-imbibing quite a bit!
5:09 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012
Eleanor, we can see you drank the Kool-Aid. Did you shave your head too?
9:48 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012
That Kool-aid reference--old ,cliched tired. Try having an original thought.

Over the top from a biased poltical sense. No humor, no attempt to "balance" just pure partisan propaganda.
There's been a lot of criticism of the Patch Democrat slant, and the Patch has tried to defend it's bias by claiming it's left wing contributors are "unbiased" in their reporting.
If the Patch is to have any credibility at all, it would appear you havge two choices; publish cartoons from someone with the opposing point of view or dump this guy as contributor.
If he wants to spew his nonsense in a personal blog, fine.
Character test time, Patch!
9:00 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Its. Its. Its.
It's. It's. It's.
Gold star to those that know the difference.
10:32 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Keep drinking that Red Kool-aid bob.
12:47 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Bob, if we're not satisfying you, just let us know where we can send the refund. Or better yet, how about some proof of bias, other than this hand ringing any time a (so-called) conservative candidate is criticized.
And yet, I don't see the same cast of commenters when we run an Obama cartoon (see the list below). Now why is that?
10:58 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012
This (the Patch) is owned by Ariana Huffington of the Huffington post. She is complete left. She is also on MSNBC.
11:05 pm on Monday, August 6, 2012
Huffington does not own Patch. AOL does. But no one owns Chuck!
It's= it is
Its= possessive of it
I will put the gold star on my forehead, Baba Wawa!
11:32 pm on Monday, August 6, 2012
They are ALL ONE GIANT MULTINATIONAL GOVERNMENT BANKCORP....! AN OLIGARCHY RAN BY PLUTOCRATS who have hijacked our country by fake money lending and fraudulent investing.
9:01 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
The patch is useful to keep up on crime in the area. Other than that I don't even get mad at their bias. They have their right to be a liberal outfit. I realize that they are in the tank for their guy, but nobody is putting a gun to my head to log on. I just want to keep up on our area going down the toilet.
12:48 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
I would love to see some proof of this bias. Again, feel to peruse the list of Obama comics below.
7:13 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Bias can be demonstrated on what is covered, how it is covered, or if it is covered at all. So the Patch posted a few cartoons about someone. Big deal. One must look at the trends of what a media outlet covers and refuses to cover. The gun running by the Federal Government story is a good example. Which outlets cover it? Which outlets have refused to cover it? This example may not be a good illustration for the Patch as it is a local publication, but how have the national media outlets covered/not covered this? So, the question for discussion could be "How does the Patch cover/not cover/refuse to cover" the local news? What do they focus on? What do they regularly exclude?
8:56 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Hernendo, it's very common for people to immediately go for the bias argument when a media publication puts forth something in a story they disagree with. I am only suggesting that you and others who get in a huff over the Romney cartoons, and conveniently stay silent when we run Obama cartoons, show proof of an actual bias happening here.
As you said, if the "question for discussion" is how we cover/not cover/refuse to cover local news, and our focus and what we "regularly exclude," what's the answer? Think of it as a challenge to put some actual meat behind these common, repetitive and defensive qualms any time a precious candidate is barely criticized.
Or better yet, maybe show some actual confidence in your candidate and tell us why you think we should vote for him. That would be useful.
10:27 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
It's not which outlets cover the Fast & Furious (gun plan) debacle; it's how it's covered. When it's covered, is it mentioned that the program was started under George W. Bush? And if they did mention that point, would you accuse them of having a liberal bias? I'm just curious.
2:07 pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2012
Actually Denise, the Bush administration had Project Gunrunner. Fast and Furious began in 2009. Under Gunrunner, the guns were apprehended before crossing the border, unlike Fast and Furious.
11:11 pm on Monday, August 6, 2012
Marie, your correction is noted. I apologize. Yes, some cases were named "Fast and Furious" in 2009, but they were cases under 2006's Project Gunrunner program.
10:14 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Hey Chuck, How about being fair with your silly comics. I can think of way more Husain Obama cartoons. I know you can think of some material to use against the worst President of the United States in all history!!! At least Mr. Romney worked and established himself as a successful business man. What is wrong with being successful? What has this country come to? Are we all suppose to have our hands out to the government so that they can take of us? Obama is the doom of this great land!!
10:48 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Hey mom, close your eyes, and now imagine for me that president obama was white. Id bet bobs house that you would be calling him "mr" or "president".
10:52 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Romney was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Obama saved the U.S. auto industry: Romney sent jobs over seas, profited by killing industries, leaving we the taxpayers to pay off the pensions.
All I know is that when McCain saw twenty three years of Romneys tax returns, he picked Sara Palin. Do you pay 14% income tax. Mitt does, we think!
There is nothing wrong with honest, positive success like Bill Gates for instance
Then there is the weasel way destroy, sell, profit and hide the assessets. The Mitt way.
11:38 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
He was successful because he took over companies, and then shipped them overseas and got rid of all the american workers. Then, he pocketed big bucks from the savings he made by having a person in China or Viet Naum do the work for less than minimum wages. I think you would be singing a different tune if you had been working for one of his companies and your job suddenly went overseas and you are left with no job, no health insurance and very little unemployment to live on.
1:14 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Still referring to our President by his middle name... That is so 2007 ignorance. "mom." And yes, Romney established himself as a business man who fires American workers and provides millions of jobs for people overseas. He is a real success story alright. His very own success and the doom of millions of Americans that he stepped on to get where he is.
6:48 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
That was a racist comment Bob.
9:43 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
No, it wasn't, but thank you hernad.
1:06 pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2012
mom - just as I point out to everyone who call the Pres by his middle name, you do know he didn't name himself? I suppose every person in the world who shares any name first or last with that of a killer is to themselves evil? So anyone by the name of Ted or has the last name Bundy would be evil? Stop it. Take yourself to the voting booth and give your vote to Willard and be done with it.
10:20 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
So a CARTOON stating the exact same information that fox news reported three days makes the patch.... left wing propaganda... bias... the contributor should be dumped...
yet when dumb arses compare the president of the united states to hitler and the slaughtering of millions of people its normal everyday, fair and balanced talk...
11:55 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Right on Bob-----Couldn't have said it any bettter. They think Rush Limbaugh is fair and balanced!!!!!
Calling GWBush Hitler was good. Calling Obama Hitler is bad. I understand now.
6:53 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Rush Limbagh is *not* fair and balanced. Rush Limbaugh is a commentator with opinions that are all his own. Commentators are not required to be balanced in their programming.
11:19 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
What happened to the most transparent administration promised by Obama?
Everyone remember that one?..........
I applaud Mitt Romney for being successful, he WILL turn this economy around if elected. Obama elected means more of an entitlement society & God knows we don't need any more free-loaders!!
11:21 am on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Waiting for that cable homes show to see his mountain estate on Romulus
12:03 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Lets have some equal treatment Patch. Put one on about Obama or stay out of it all together.
12:45 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
For all of the people who think we never say anything about Obama.
1:08 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Yep. There they are... Bias my botty, Obama haters.
6:56 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Now find the news stories that the Patch/ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/NYT/MSNBC ran that said *ANYTHING* negative about Obama *Before* the election! Obama was NOT VETTED before the 2008 election!
7:07 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Not vetted before the 2008 election? You're I N S A N E. Like 100% of the Faux News viewers, which numerous studies from respectable institutions have said that Faux News viewers are the MOST MISINFORMED people. In fact, so misinformed, that people that watch NO news are more informed than a Faux News viewer.
Now Obama announced his candidacy for President on a very cold day in Springfield on February 10, *2007*!!
So Hernendo, you think that for TWENTY-ONE months of campaigning and primaries and primary debates and a national convention and three presidential debates that he wasn't vetted?!
YOU. ARE. INSANE.
7:15 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Oh. P.S., Hernendo:
You want someone that WASN'T vetted? Sarah Palin.
7:26 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
I have never heard of Faux news. Is that a new media outlet? Is it similar to The Onion?
No, I am not insane. What did we know of Obama's record before he was elected? Nothing! He voted "Present" on many of the issues facing him in Illinois. We didn't see his school records. We didn't see his tax returns. The debates were a crock of garbage. All the questions were selected to play to Obama's talking points and attempted to make McCain (jackass) look like a jackass. Obama spent 21 months telling America how evil George Bush was and not much else. He has spent his entire first term blaming all our problems on George Bush and then turns around and makes things worse. I'm not the one that is insane.
7:28 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Sarah Palin "NOT VETTED"???!!!???
The media has hounded her relentlessly since her name was first mentioned.
You must be watching that "Faux News" thing too!
7:54 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Sarah Palin was never thoroughly vetted prior to her being pushed on McCain. She's an idiot through and through.
10:40 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Patch started in 2009 (and came to this area in 2010), therefore Patch couldn't have said anything--positive, negative, or neutral--about then-Senator Obama before the 2008 election.
As for the other news sources you mention, I do not see how Patch could be held responsible for their shortcomings, but just for fun, I tried a quick Google search of "2008 Obama concerns" and discovered a ridiculous amount of articles on mainstream sites dated before the election.
12:50 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Yea but this one comments on the integrity of the entire republican party
1:31 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
That's an oxymoron if there ever was one.
4:03 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
You're joking right. there isn't one shred of anything in this comic that refers to the Rep party.
10:36 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
good catch! Was meant to stir up the post count! If there was some legal issue like not being to run for Gov or breaking election and campaign law by still holding that position in 2001 like the document says.. than yea he fooled his own party...
12:54 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
I don't agree with you in regard to this comic, but even if it did address the whole party, why is that a problem? I really would like to see a real counter argument other than the tired "Well, you're just a lousy liberal, because you're criticizing my precious candidate."
C'mon...try harder folks. It's good to be critical of people trying to take public office, and the parties, even if you have aligned yourself with one or the other. The Democrats do plenty of ridiculously stupid things too.
Obama brought way too much Illinois cronyism to the capital. But I don't like that Romney's stances change like the wind either. It's going to be a tough call in November.
7:02 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Ben - I have disagreed with a lot you have said in this thread, but this is an excellent observation. We don't take a close look at all the candidates running for public office. We just get the dirt on the ones that the media doesn't like. (my opinion there)
12:55 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
It's nice to see some intelligent comments and responses here instead of just the usual partisan Obama bashing that I see on other sites. My faith in the collective intelligence of the S. Side is restored.

Proof of the bias, please... I don't see it.
1:37 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
My favorite part of this cartoon is the dog... Poor Seamus... I wonder if the Romney's were issued an animal cruelty citation for traveling with their dog on the roof of their car, then hosing him down after he vomited from the motion sickness and emotional trauma of being atop a vehicle at rates of speed exceeding 75 miles per hour. Mitt and his plastic wife are animal abusers. Read about their drug-overdosed horse, too, to get a more complete picture of their inhumanity.
7:05 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
What drug overdosed horse? Post the link. Don't throw poop at the wall to see if it sticks.
Plastic wife? Really??? Now that wasn't a hateful comment, was it?
11:10 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
FYI, SouthSide, Romney was not charged for animal cruelty of Seamus although the incident was assigned a case ID for abuse. He is on the registry of at least two animal cruelty registries that are often consulted when people attempt to adopt from shelters. (Of course, breeders and pet stores do not consistently consult these registries, so the Romneys and people in similar positions as the Romneys have no trouble acquiring animals).
Sadly, the drugged horse story is not "poop at the wall." Ann Romney was sued for fraud for selling a horse that had Butorphanol, Delomidine, Romifidine, and Xylatine in its system at the time of his sale, according to court documents. Testified an expert: “In my 38 years of practice, I have never come across a drug screen such as this where the horse has been administered so many different medications at the same time." Ann Romney settled in 2010. You can see the claim here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/ann-romneys-high-horse
1:17 pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2012
Don't forget that Romney's own son said the dog had diarrhea too and was hosed down INSIDE the carrier. Romney is a dog abuser.

The last great depression lasted from 1929 to 1947. How long shall we blame Bush and 30 years of Reaganomics for that matter for the destruction that used to be our economy? How often do we plan to blame OJ Simpson or Charlie Manson for what they did?
11:24 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012
President Obama's long form birth certificate:
And now the transcripts have replaced the birth certificate to fuel birther fire. Did we insist on seeing all other American presidents' birth certificates and college transcripts before the current president? Why now? Why this president? And as for his social security card, um, don't you think it, like all of ours, should be kept secure? I hope you don't share your social security card with the public, Tonto. That would sure be tonto.

Romney and Obama are dead even in the polls. Even after all the hatred poured out. This is going to be very interesting. Turnout will play a huge factor. Just like in 2010. There was over 500 seats of Federal, State and Local seats that changed over in 2010. I don't think people think about that too much. Over 500 political offices were changed. If this is like 2010 it will favor Mitt Romney. Think about it people, there wasn't even a Presidential election in 2010 and the Nation was ingaged at a whole new level.

Joe Arpaio, Tonto??! THAT CLOWN?! He's never met a camera he didn't like. He's a media whore. And why would a *county sheriff* start such a stupid "investigation"? You are the epitome of a typical stupid Republican
Since when was running a business an essential requirement to running for president? FDR never ran a business. Republican demi-god Reagan was an actor, and Bill Clinton who some would argue ran the country very well was nothing but a politician. The problem with Romney is that many believe him to be of the same cloth who have ruined this country: BIG BUSINESS who refuse to invest in America, export jobs, hold onto the $$$ that is supposed to "trickle down" to the middle-class, and buy politicians to protect their interests. These people and their proponents are the ones who would have you believe that teachers, police officers, and firefighters are responsible for the state of our economy. Those with small brains latch onto this partisan nonsense which is nothing but the illusion that we actually have a choice.
A person who believes in obvious hoaxes says what?

@billable hours I love how you call Republicans stonewalling, when there was a Democratic Super majority for the first two years. Anything could have been rammed through and a lot was. Besides when something can't be rammed through, our distinguished leader just circumvents Congress and uses executive orders to choose the laws he does not want to enforce. President O'bama is the same as the rest of our Politicians. None of them are any good. Republicans or Democrats. They are all negative finger pointers. Blaming is so unbecoming. Nobody has the guts to tell the truth about how bad things are and what is really necessary to get out of it.
6:37 am on Monday, July 16, 2012
There was no super majority in the Senate for the first two years.
And Andrew Sullivan is a conservative.
5:07 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012
Genvieve, Billable Hours has a point. During most of Obama's first year in office and for a few weeks of his second, there were 58 Democratic senators. If you add the two Independents who would normally vote with them, there's your filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate . . . that's it. One year. Since then, it's been record-breaking obstruction and abuse of the filibuster. No one has said it better than Mitch McConnell himself right before mid-terms: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
Not to fix the economy, not improve healthcare or civil rights, not to end wars, get bin Laden or close Gitmo. Not even to overturn Roe Vs. Wade. Nope, just to get the White House back. How noble.

Instead of jobs, jobs, jobs, they're first order of business was to shut down Planned Parenthood because that moron Senator Kyl from Arizona said 90% of Planned Parenthood's business is abortion, a COMPLETE and UTTER LIE, and Kyl denies he said it and was tripping over himself back peddling on it.

Augh, thank goodness there are people out there that still have the ability to use the brain that came with their body!. When are people going to see the light? You are being played. This is one big shell game. The only reason we have 2 parties (in name) is to keep the masses at each others throats and not looking" behind the curtain" to see what's actually going on! The bulk of our politicians are opportunist shills controlled by the almighty dollar! Shumks! No matter if you are a Rublicrit or a Democon or independent (which they are trying hard to eliminate) where has either party got us? Nowhere! Blame it all on one man when there are what 535 people directly involved? Like Denise said about McConnell's goal: Make Obama a one term president. Is that what McConnell was elected for? No they are all elected to do a job on behalf of the American people. It doesn't seem ANY OF THEM are performing and what happens when you or I don't perform for our jobs? WE ARE FIRED. Which is exactly what should happen to these people - as well as their exclusive benefit packages should be terminated. They do not deserve them. Fired for incompetence and breach of ethics!

Our politicians continued
The same laws you or I live by should be applied to them. The same social security, the same medicare/healthcare, no insider trading, but no, they vote for each other's best interests in their little exclusive club or for there rich powerful corporate keepers. They thumb their noses at us. They take multiple vacations when important work needs to be done. How long would we keep our jobs if we operated like that? They fight like 3 year olds in a sand-box. They profess family values and good old American traditions when in front of the camera but behind closed doors (or in bathroom stalls) who knows what they are doing!. People need to focus on what is getting accomplished and if not why and who is responsible regardless of party. Only then will we be able to take our government back. I bet there are many out there that have the same beliefs if compared side by side but you are all to busy pointing fingers over non-issues someone has implanted in your brain!

Democrats will outsource all our jobs to illegal aliens soon. They need as stupid mushroom voters they can promise the world to. Funny to hear them talk about corporations outsourcing when its they who are the mega job killers. Yea, have the olympic uniforms made here.....by illegals :(

Tonto - there's already a huge issue with our farmers not being able to hire the amount of migrant workers they need because they have to hire americans who do not show up for work cause 'it's too hard". The jobs going to the migrant workers are clearly jobs Americans think they are too good for.

When I read that the President saved the auto industry I fume. GM went bankrupt. Why did I as a taxpayer have to give them money so they can continue doing exactly the same thing that got them in trouble? Wouldn't it have been smarter to allow them to file bankruptcy and reconstruct their union contracts to make them affordable?
And while I'm pontificating <g>, what is all this talk about Romney the Rich? Is this the party that sits at the feet of The Kennedy Family? Really??
As we speak of outsourcing, let's not forget GE. Jeffrey Immelt is the head of one of President Obama's job council advisorships, right? And is GE not a huge outsourcer? And according to ABC news (I didn't fact check it) the 10 Largest Companies on Obama's Jobs Council Lost 91,000 Jobs.
I think what I'm saying is.... maybe we all have bridges to burn. Maybe we need to stop calling each other idiots etc. I'm proud to be a Republican, and I respect my Democratic friends.

It was a sick country when that razzle-dazzle hillbilly Clinton was getting "taken care of" in the Oval Office & look how much worse it is now!!!!

@Bill Steinert, Patch in itself IS just another liberal media outlet. It is self evident when certain comments made by individuals like Baba Wawa calling people idiots, nuts and insane are allowed yet those who comment similarly against the left get chastised by the Patch people or have their comments removed as divisive, racist, or whatever other reason they decide to use and contrary to the naysayers, it does happen!
9:56 am on Tuesday, July 17, 2012
you are wrong, there is just as much name calling from the right as there is from the left.Comments get removed from both sides when they get too nasty.

Any media who doesn't repeat word for word what is gospel on right wing media is a in the tank liberal organization. The truth has no political affiliation and 2 minutes of fact checking usually confirms whether something is factual or not.

Don't forget, Diana, GM paid back the bailout money and they're the number one car maker as well as the thousands of jobs that were saved. Mittens wanted Detroit to fail.

Don't confuse people with facts! What news source is capable of presenting "the facts" anyway? I use several and then even treat them with a grain of salt. Most people only look for "facts" that support their beliefs. Case in point, here on patch: there are posts regarding politicians on both sides of the aisle and some just don't see them... People should check multiple sources for "the facts" before they draw conclusions. We are all fed bogus data regularly because it helps keep the shell game alive and well. Google this and read up on this case if you haven't heard about it: Florida Court of Appeals rules FOX News can lie. Really interesting. There is no law against people lying and now that the supremes have determined that "Corporations are people" - they too can lie! There are no rules against distorting or falsifying the news!!! (especially if it hurts a corporation they like or get money from).... You faux news junkies who always think they are right need to read what happened with this case and try real hard to keep an open mind while you do.
You can even watch a video about it on youtube:
or this one has a great collection of many "reporters" on the "news": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn7_8QL2weQ&feature=fvwrel

As a voter, I would like to see both candidates resumes side by side. As with any normal employment situation, I would like to see their college transcripts and credit ratings. They should both submit to a drug test. Personally I would like for those who are worried about Romney's tax returns to see them. I would also like full disclosure of the President's dealings with Tony Rezko, his children's admission to the Lab School and Rev. Wright's accusation that he was offered $100K to keep quiet.
Finally, "It's the Economy Stupid". Blacks have a 14.2% unemployment rate and Obama didn't even bother to address the NAACP. He is doing a beautiful job of distracting voters from the real issues, as does Madigan, JJJ, Bobby, etc. Illinois and the black community deserve who they elect. I only hope Obama will have mercy on us when we go over the cliff. The rest of the country will pay for it.

I think i mentioned this in another thread or earlier in this one. Hannity, beck, oriely., limabaugh, and many liberal talk show hosts are not news shows. They are basically variety shows based on opinions and some facts. Many times these opinions are slanted and the bought. Personally i feel fox is most guilty of being one sided and agenda based. "Contributers" on fox are either selling a book or quite frankly a babe.

Another set of facts that you won't see in conservative media.
And Forbes is not known for liberal leanings.
11:23 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012
To the posters who say that this is a liberal site, I suggest you look at the links above to cartoons that are satire of Obama. As to this thread and these comments, these comments are made by citizens, not Patch employees.
I read the story about Sheriff Joe's press conference on Yahoo last night. In the comments, there were dozens of people who obviously still think that we have a President who has forged his birth certificate and somehow got that past the FBI, the electoral commissions of 50 states, and the entire GOP.
It was Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's minister of propaganda who said that the bigger the lie, the more they will believe it. This country is in a sad state of affairs when hate blinds people to this extent that this many people could STILL be buying into an obvious hoax.
Those of us who examine the facts and use common sense don't mind if you don't like the President and plan to vote for his opponent. That is your right. We do mind if the reasons why you hate him are lies.
President Obama is another politician. No one gets near that office without being willing to play ball and cut deals with the people who really run this country. When I post here or elsewhere, I am defending the truth more than I am defending him. If we vote based on lies and irrational hatred, then the system has been corrupted.
11:27 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012
I am voting for President Obama because the GOP solution of more Reagaonmics/Voodoo economics with tax cuts, deregulation and lack of oversight of the financial industry, the aiding and abetting of corporate profiteering and outsourcing, and the 700 billion dollars a year that we spend on defense, the largest item in our budget, are what have caused our economy and our great country to hover on the brink of disaster.
All spending needs to be cut too. All of our politicians are guility for letting this ponzi scheme go on, but the GOP solution is more of the same when it has obviously failed.

Out of 535 members of Congress, only 17 have released their tax returns. What a bunch of hypocrites. These people lie & cheat everyday to the American people.
They are all collecting fat salaries & benefits & perks we cant even fathom.
Remember, "IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID" I hope Romney kicks Obama's ass right out the door come November.
4:11 pm on Thursday, July 19, 2012
You are a really crazy lady vicky. Congressmen are not running for President--I want to see the person who is running for President's tax return. I have seen Obama's--now I want to see Mitty's. I am glad you are among the rich who don't give a crap about the rest of us--so you go ahead and vote for Mitty, but I will nilify your vote with pleasure.

I usually don't respond to people Eleanor because it's not worth my time.
I may attack the politicians on this site but I consider myself a decent, hardworking person who likes to vent a little about my frustrations with these political clowns.
Unlike you, who calls everybody out for not agreeing with you. I could call you a lot of names but instead of verbalizing them, I'll show a little class & keep them to myself.

Can there really be anyone left who still believes the birther hoax? Use your brain for more than a hat rest. While the media is keeping you busy with hoaxes like this, the elite of this country are stealing money with both hands in the form of huge tax breaks, and profiteering and monopolies in every major industry including health care, defense, and energy.
The Republican Governor of Hawaii confirmed that the birth cert is real. Our President got into Columbia and Harvard Law and was editor of the Harvard Law Review. Something tells me his grades were just fine. I'd like to know at what grade the people who believe these hoaxes stopped paying attention? 2nd? 3rd?
