A New Lenox man faces drug delivery charges after police found more than 100 grams of marijuana and mushrooms in his home Feb. 8.

Derek M. Klimczak, 18, of the 700 block of Northern Lights Way in New Lenox, was booked into county jail Wednesday night on charges of intent to deliver marijuana and a controlled substance.

New Lenox police executed a search warrant at Klimczak's home after an investigation led them to him.

Police found 143 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and 136 of marijuana during the search. They also discovered an unspecified amount of cash, Sgt. Hilary Davis said.

Klimczak is charged with the manufacture/delivery of marijuana, a class 3 felony, and a controlled substance, a class 1 felony.

Davis said the delivery charges often result from the way the drugs are packaged, but she said the police report didn't specify that detail.

Police blotter information is provided by the New Lenox Police Department. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. I agree Ya. It must be nice to never have done anything wrong in your life. My son knows him and told me he is a good kid. He just made a mistake. I wish the yuppies would go back to Chicago.
