A 4-year-old girl was killed as a result of a Sept. 2, 2012 crash in McHenry County. A New Lenox man faces a charge of aggravated DUI, and officials Monday set a $100,000 bond, Sun-Times Media reports.

McHenry County Sheriff's officials Monday set a $100,000 bond for a 43-year-old New Lenox man involved in a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 4-year-old girl, Sun-Times Media reports

Leonardo R. Martinez, of the 600 block of Edgewater Court, was charged with aggravated DUI in connection with the child's death.

According to a Sun-Times Media report, the case has been under investigation by McHenry County Sheriff's police for the past five months. Police say Martinez's car collided with a jeep in the intersection of Millstream Road and Route 176.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene, and four others received treatment for injuries at Centegra Medical Center in Woodstock.

Two ways to stay connected:

Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Way too sick of people drinking and driving. Drink YOURSELF to death but don't get behind the wheel of a vehicle!
