Located at 1080 E. Lincoln Highway, the 5-year-old restaurant known for its selection of deep dish pizza, appetizers, Italian-style menu and more was voted Patch's Readers' Choice Award Winner in February 2011.
Along with great food, the restaurant was lauded by the New Lenox Chamber committee for its outreach throughout the community. According to a Chamber press release, Gina and Tim Waters are New Lenox residents who give back to the community in multiple ways.
Debbie Hypke, executive director of the Chamber, said the company has demonstrated support of local civic, athletic and community groups through monetary and product donations including various booster clubs at the Lincoln-Way high schools, St. Jude Catholic Church, Lincoln-Way Business Women's Organization, New Lenox School District 122 PTO, the New Lenox Library Summer Reading Program, Tea Asset Faire, Cancer Support Center, numerous athletic organizations and local fundraisers.
As a family, the Waters are interested in running events. They demonstrate their support for the activity by frequently showing up at the finish line of local run and walk events. They offer free pizza to the hungry participants, said Hypke.
"We try to help whenever we can," noted Gina Waters.
Their dedication to the community stems from a commitment to "friendly, quality service. We believe in doing right by people; here at work and out in the community," stated Waters.
The couple is particularly conscious of the low sodium needs of some of its customers, and, therefore, offer low sodium ingredients that do not contain MSG or high fructose corn syrup.
The Waters boast that many of their recipes are old family secrets, including Nick's steak sandwich and Tony's combo.
The company is scheduled to be honored at the Chamber's Annual Dinner on Jan. 29. Click here to view the Chamber's information about the dinner.
Hypke lauded Chicago Dough Company for its participation in and support for Chamber events, such as committing staff and resources to ensure the success of many chamber events and programs. Particularly the Waters' support of the Chamber’s Holiday Party, golf outing, I SPY New Lenox scavenger hunt, Business After Hours networking events, Halloween Costume Contest and the Mind Over Miles 8k Run.
The company has a staff of 38 employees, many of whom live in New Lenox, added Hypke.
