I don't normally question weather related school closings but it seems like this decision was made a little too early. I thought the heavy snow is forecast to hit later this evening, after the kids would be getting home.
Anyway, if they can stay home, so can all of us. :-) Just the excuse I need to work from home today.

I agree with you; I think the district acted a little too fast in closing the schools. The heavy accumulation is not expected until later this afternoon. Why couldn't they have had an early release instead and/or half day? At least that way, the day would have been counted and we wouldn't be having to have a make-up day on a Monday for only 90 minutes. We basically just lost a weekend of summer.

I know what most kids will do with their day off, play video games and text, and maybe look out the window.

I bet if school were open tons would have complained. My kids and I had a great day! Took them and a few kids sledding. I was glad they were home and could enjoy themselves. They are only kids once!
