Community Mourns Sudden Death of L-W Central Senior

Tom Schuman, of New Lenox, died suddenly Saturday, March 31. He was 18. The family released the funeral and visitation information.

The Lincoln-Way community is mourning the death of senior Tom Schuman, who died suddenly Saturday morning.

Mr. Schuman, who attended , was born Feb. 8, 1994. He was 18. The details of his death could not be confirmed Saturday, but the family did announce the service information.

He was the captain on the Lincoln-Way Central golf team and a pitcher for the baseball team. On Thursday he won the game he started.

On Monday, Supt. Lawrence Wyllie released a statement about the loss of a "wonderful young man."

“On behalf of the board of education, administration, faculty, staff and
students of all Lincoln-Way High Schools we want to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of senior Tom Schuman," Wyllie said in the statement. "While Tom attended Lincoln-Way Central ... he was a hardworking student, wonderful young man and our thoughts and
prayers go out to his family.”

A wake for Mr. Schuman will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at , 21300 S. La Grange Road in Frankfort. The funeral will be at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4.
