Car Rear-Ended Semi-Truck on I-80 at Wolf Road: Man Seriously Injured

An eastbound motorist was seriously injured when his car rear-ended a semi-truck on I-80 near Wolf Road.

One man was seriously injured when his white Acura rear-ended a semi-truck at 2:23 p.m. Friday on Interstate 80 near Wolf Road.

New Lenox Firefighters extricated the man, who was pinned in his car. He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Jeff Padilla said the driver of the Acura was eastbound on I-80 when he rear-ended the semi-truck. The driver was pinned under the back of the semi-truck.

He speculated that the semi-truck driver was likely slowing to enter the weigh station.

Eastbound traffic is now moving. One lane has been opened, said Padilla.

The identities of the two involved in the accident have not yet been revealed.

I passed this accident leaving the Tinley Park area and after seeing the white car pinned under the semi all I could think of was to say a prayer for the driver I am Shocked to learn this wasn't a fatal crash because it looked very bad
